Supposed Obama divorce story gets people buzzing
People are buzzing about an Obama divorce story that is suddenly hitting the Internet. While some hear the phrase and wonder if President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are set to divorce right now, that is not at all the case. In fact, there isn’t necessarily any proof that anything related to the story is true, but Thursday Huffington Post tracked down how the story garnered buzz.
In the new book that came out Tuesday, “The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House,” author Edward Klein wrote about the supposed Obama divorce story that is grabbing attention. Klein claims that after an election loss in 2000, the pair went through some “dark days” and was on the brink of divorce.

Presidential spokesperson Eric Schultz has dismissed the story. He told the Washington Examiner, “Ed Klein has a proven history of reckless fabrication in order to sell books. Nobody in their right mind would believe the nonsense in this one.” President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama faced another Obama divorce story in 2010 when the National Enquirer claimed she threatened to leave if he pursued a second term in office. That story also seemed to hold no merit. The two have been married for almost 20 years and have two daughters.
